One of the largest investments in Polish power production sector – building of a new coal-fired energy block in Kozienice power plant – is ready in 70% and should start working by 2017. Contract for coal deliveries was signed between Enea and Bogdanka long ago before the energy group decided to take over LZW based coal producer.
Energa’s net profit for 3rd quarter of 2015 decreased in the analyzed period YOY (166.2m PLN in 2015, 213m PLN in 2014). The opposite trend was spotted in Enea, where net profit for Q3 increased by almost a double digits (406.6 PLN in 2015, 204.3 PLN in 2014).
Just yesterday we wrote about some legal aspects of establishing the new Ministry of Energy. On Monday evening, Polish Parliament pushed the new laws that will be a base for creation the department led by Krzysztof Tchórzewski. According to new provisions, among the duties of minister responsible for energy sector there are i.a.: shaping domestic power policies and energy security of the State, taking care of energy, mining and fuels industries (State owned companies like PGE, Enea, Kompania Węglowa, but also entities from the crude-oil market like Orlen and Lotos) and supervision over GHG emissions trading.
