POLISH COAL MARKET MIDWEEK SUMMARY 3/2017

Minister of Energy Krzysztof Tchorzewski [in regards to European commission positive decision towards 8bn PLN of public aid to the Polish mines] announced, that EU accepted the fact that Polish energy sector will be based on coal. Does he ever heard of Winter Package of power market reforms and a benchmark of 550 grams of CO2 per KWh?

Because of the recent smog alerts in Warsaw, Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Development are trying to speed up implementation of their new legislation towards household heating based on coal (coal boilers), despite the fact that their ideas are either expensive or totally ineffective or damaging for Polish coal sector (both producers and traders) or harmful to the most poor citizens. Or all together.
